Minimum Local Value (MLV) Measurement

IDEAL SIZE OF A TEST SECTION

 

The Minimum Local Value (MLV) of the ideal section area should be applied to control the very worst locations that do not meet the project’s requirement.

If the pours are large, the pours should be divided to make two or more Sections per pour/casting. “Large” is a relative word that has different meanings to different people. But the Face Company defines a “Large” slab as anything over 800 m2. The Face Company recommends using Test Sections that ideally are from 200 m2 to 800 m2.

 

PREMIER E1155 APP, developed by the Face Companies (USA) and Premier Concrete Equipment (Australia), is recommended for Minimum Local Value (MLV) measurement. Below is an example of the run layouts for a 55m x 38m casting:
